About the Role

Due to internal progression we are looking for a Management Accountant to work closely with the Head of Management Accounts. the Management Accountant will support this business function with monthly P & L, balance sheet preparation and weekly KPI’s to improve overall business financial performance whilst analysing financial information and aiding budgets and forecasting

Please note this is an office based role and is based at our Leeds Head Office – LS126DB

We are looking for somebody CIMA, ACA or ACCA Qualified, we would consider somebody part qualified with the right skills and looking to work towards completing their studies

Key tasks: 

General

  • Produce monthly accounts for circa 80 homes and cost centres on a monthly basis.
  • Commercial and operational support via insightful analysis of key drivers identifying areas of improvement to drive performance.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Landlord & CQC reporting in line with the group commitments to provide external bodies with monthly management information.
  • Analysing financial information such as management accounts, occupancy reports and agency to identify homes where there are areas of potential improvement.
  • Train and develop through regular 1 – 1’s and feedback the Assistant Accountants (2) reporting into the role.
  • Liaising with Regional Directors and supporting them with analysis of the management accounts and identify areas of focus.
  • Support the Operations and Marketing teams by attending quarterly / monthly meetings with insightful analysis to support the business and drive business improvements.
  • Assisting the Head of FP&A with budget preparation and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare parts of the monthly board pack with appropriate narrative to explain performance and trends / direction of travel for cost / income / KPI’s

Communication

  • Understand the importance of correct record management and own personal responsibilities in maintaining this through passwords, storage of documentation, and sharing information (both paper based or on electronic systems).
  • Report breeches of records security to line manager or the Caldicott Guardian.
  • Always maintain confidentiality in relation to the relevant Data Protection Act legislation.
  • To work within the company's Information Governance policies in order maintain security of personal and sensitive data.

Teamwork

  • Develop and train Assistant Accountants with formal 1 – 1’s with a written record of short / medium / long term objectives for the team.
  • To be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and your own responsibilities under this Act
